Sofwave is a clinically proven, non-invasive and advanced ultrasound-based technology that effectively stimulates collagen growth in the skin, producing a skin tightening and lifting effect. It is best used on the brows, jawline and neck with the purpose of reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Using the Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology (SUPERB™), Sofwave sends pulses of high frequency focused ultrasound beams over the treatment area at precisely 1.5mm in depth. This results in targeted tissue heating and stimulates the skin’s repair and collagen production process. At the same time, the heat causes the skin to contract, which results in further tightening of the skin.
While some warmth will be felt, the entire process is a very tolerable one. Sofwave is designed with an integrated cooling mechanism (Sofcool™) which protects the upper layers of the skin (epidermis) from burning and focuses the treatment effects in the deeper layer of the skin (mid-dermis) where collagen is most abundant. The discomfort felt is mild and a numbing cream applied prior to the treatment will suffice.
Each Sofwave treatment takes around 30 to 45 minutes; and patients go right back to their daily lives immediately after as the mild redness and tenderness usually resolves within 1 to 2 hours.
Most patients only need one treatment. However, some may require more, depending on their skin condition, their desired results, and their body’s response to the treatment.
Usually, you will notice improvements in your skin within several weeks, with the full result being attained after three to six months.
Thereafter, the results can last for about a year; after which, you may consider another session to maintain the lifted and youthful effects on your skin.
Generally speaking, if you are in your 30s and above, have experienced mild to moderate levels of skin ageing with some visible fine lines and wrinkles, you may be a good candidate. Furthermore, Sofwave is safe and suitable for all skin types and skin tones.
